Grambling State Women’s Soccer Battles to a 3-3 Draw

RUSTON, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team battled cross-parish foe Louisiana Tech to a 3-3 draw on Sunday night at Robert Mack Caruthers Field. The Lady Tigers held a 3-1 lead in the second half, but wasn't able fend off the pesky Bulldogs down the stretch. 

In the 37th minute, forward Naiya Singleton finished a close-ranged attempt inside the box. She was assisted by midfielder Charlotte Cuthbertson and forward Ronya Hallen.

Shortly after her, forward Kennedy Farr scored the second goal in the 39th minute.

Tech was awarded a penalty in the 41st minute. Kalli Matlock converted the opportunity to cap off the scoring for the first half.

Forward Jayla Gage created a goal in the 52nd minute to extend the Lady Tigers lead 3-1.

A goal in the 58th minute for Tech made the score 3-2. Maeva Costenaro scored the goal.

Another penalty in the 76th minute for Tech saw the score come to a 3-3 draw. Matlock got her second goal of the day at the spot.

The Lady Tigers continued to fight throughout the second half; the score read 3-3 at the full-time whistle.

With the draw, Grambling stands at 2-1-2 on the season. Tech stands at 0-1-3.
