GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University women's soccer team showed its resilience once again, earning a 2–2 draw with Alabama A&M on Friday afternoon at the GSU Soccer Complex.
With the result, Grambling extended its unbeaten streak to six matches, moving to 6–6–5 overall and 3–0–3 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.
Alabama A&M now sits at 6–8–1 overall and 3–2–1 in the conference.
Grambling got on the board first in the 21st minute when
Taya Sands delivered a perfectly struck goal from distance, putting the Lady Tigers up 1–0.
The lead was short-lived as Alabama A&M quickly responded less than a minute later with a kickoff goal from Anita Frederick-Sigaran to tie the match.
The Bulldogs added another in the 31st minute when Daniela Marroquin scored off an assist from Moriah Watkins, giving AAMU a 2–1 advantage heading into halftime.
The second half saw Grambling dominate possession and generate consistent offensive pressure.
The Lady Tigers fired 12 shots after the break and earned multiple corner kicks, but Alabama A&M's goalkeeper Adriana Durango made key saves to preserve the lead.
Grambling's persistence paid off in the closing moments.
With just under a minute left in regulation,
Alana Aiken found the back of the net off a perfect assist from
Nyla Dore-Anderson tying the match 2–2.
Kaia Bace and
Jaliyah Clark split time in goal for the Lady Tigers, combining for three saves.
