FORT WORTH, TX. | Grambling State's postseason run came to an end Friday evening as the Tigers fell 7–0 to TCU in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium.
Grambling State competed with energy and physicality throughout the night, but the Horned Frogs efficiency in the attacking third proved to be the difference.
TCU opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Seven Castain found the net, giving the Horned Frogs early momentum.
Eleven minutes later, Emma Yolinsky extended the lead to 2–0, finishing a connection from Castain that sent TCU into halftime with control of the match.
The Horned Frogs continued their pressure after the break, adding five goals in the second half.
Yolinsky struck again in the 53rd minute, followed by two more goals from Castain in the 61st and 68th minutes as she secured a hat trick.
Cameron Patton tacked on a seventh in the 78th minute, and Grace Vest converted a penalty kick in the 85th minute to close the scoring.
Despite the result, Grambling State saw strong individual efforts defensively.
Goalkeeper
Kaia Bace recorded four saves while facing 22 total shots, including 11 on frame.
Offensively, Grambling State produced five shots.
Grambling State concludes its season at 11–7–5, highlighted by a SWAC championship and another NCAA Tournament appearance.
