PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | Grambling State delivered in crunch time, punching its ticket forward in the postseason with a 1–0 win over Southern on Thursday afternoon at the Lady Panther Soccer Field.

Sophomore midfielder Adalie Hernandez produced an olímpico in the 81st minute.

An olímpico is a goal scored directly from a corner kick without any other player touching the ball, and she delivered just that curling her corner into the net at 80:48 to give Grambling State the lead for good.

The Tigers controlled nearly every phase of the match.

Grambling State out-shot Southern 14–2, including an 11–0 advantage in the second half, and earned 11 corner kicks to just two for Southern.

GSU's tempo, pressure, and sustained attacking possession wore down the Jaguars as the match progressed.

Goalkeeper Kaia Bace secured the clean sheet and did not face a shot on goal, as Grambling defended confidently and limited Southern's ability to create anything in the final third.

Southern picked up three yellow cards while trying to slow Grambling State's pace.

The win keeps Grambling State unbeaten in SWAC play and sends the Tigers forward in the postseason.
