GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State struggled offensively and fell 7-0 to ULM in a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon at the GSU Softball Complex.
The Tigers (5-14) were held without a hit as ULM's pitching duo of Victoria Abrams and Dakota Lake combined for a no-hitter. Abrams (4.0 IP, 6 K) set the tone early, while Lake (3.0 IP, 5 K) shut the door, allowing no walks and striking out 11 batters in total.
ULM (19-10) broke the scoreless tie in the second inning and gradually built its lead throughout the game.
Grambling State did show patience at the plate, drawing five walks throughout the game.
Brooklynn Poullard provided a spark with a stolen base in the fourth inning, advancing to third on a wild pitch, but the Tigers were unable to bring her home. The fourth inning proved pivotal as ULM plated three runs to take control.
The Warhawks capitalized on key hits, including a home run by Maryssa Zenzen and a sacrifice fly by Kelsey Kovar.
Grambling State's defense worked to limit the damage, with
Erin Gibbs (2.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER) and
Audrey Richardson (3.0 IP, 5 R, 3 ER) battling through innings before
Chloe Wilson (2.0 IP, 1 ER) closed out the game.
Despite the loss, the Tigers showed resilience, turning a triple play and limiting ULM to just one extra-base hit outside of Zenzen's homer.

Grambling State returns to SWAC play with a road series against the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Tigers face UAPB on Friday, March 14, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, with the series continuing on Saturday, March 15.
