Box Score PRIAIRE VIEW, Texas | Grambling State's pitcher Randy Reyes racked up eight strikeouts over seven innings to help the Tigers secure a series clinching 6-2 victory over Prairie View A&M on Saturday afternoon at Tankersley Park.

Reyes (1-3) was dominant in limiting the Panthers to just two runs on four hits. After giving up a run in the opening inning, he tossed five scoreless innings in a row.

Hampton Phillips was also solid in a relief appearance, allowing no runs on one hit with three strikeouts and a walk.

Both pitchers were backed by a defense that committed no errors.

Just as he did in the series opener on Friday, Cameron Hill got things started on a powerful note, smashing a two-run homer in the top of the first to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead. Hill finished the day 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Later in the inning, with a runner on base, Aries Gardner ripped an RBI double down the left field line to make it 3-0.

After Prairie View A&M answered with a run in the bottom of the first, GSU answered with a solo homer by Keanu Jacobs-Guishard to go up 4-1.

The score held steady until a sacrifice fly by Gardner in the top of seventh extending Grambling State's cushion to 5-1.

With GSU leading 5-2 in the bottom in the top of the eighth, and runners on first and third, a grounder by Hill allowed Grambling State's sixth run of the day to cross the plate.
