BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Grambling State's
Kamryn Broussard is turning heads across the conference as she earns Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Softball Player of the Year honors, continuing a breakout season for the Lady Tigers.
Broussard, a sophomore from Lake Charles, La., is currently batting .453 with an OPS of 1.212 through 46 games. She leads Grambling State in nearly every major offensive category, including hits (62), runs (46), and total bases (95).
Her power numbers include 14 doubles, five triples, and three home runs, while driving in 33 RBIs and posting a slugging percentage of .693.
With a .519 on-base percentage and five stolen bases on six attempts, Broussard is one of the most dynamic players in the SWAC and a constant threat at the top of the lineup.
Also receiving honors is Outfielder
Deija Russell, who is named to the All-SWAC Second Team.
Russell has been flawless in the field, appearing in 53 games without recording an error.
She's totaled 51 putouts and two assists, earning a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
