BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Grambling State's Skyler Hudnall highlighted GSU's trip to the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Indoor Championships, claiming first place in the men's 5000-meter run and second place in the 1-mile run.
Hudnall finished the 5000m in 14:53.89, nearly a second ahead of Bethune-Cookman's Andrew Kiplagat who crossed the line in 14:54.06. In the 1-mile run, Hudnall's time of 4:17.07 clinched second.
The GSU women turned in strong results in the field events, earning two podium spots.
Madison Holloway nabbed second place in the women's high jump, leaping 1.62m, while
Marissa Tell capped her strong indoor season with third place in the triple jump (12.37m).
Deserae Charles landed in sixth place in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.43m.
In the men's weight throw,
Jalen Peel notched a personal best of 15.68m to wrap up seventh place.
Dakari Betts and
Savantez Phillips represented the Tigers in the men's 60m hurdles, with Betts finishing sixth (8.23) and Phillips coming in seventh (8.35).
In the team standings, the GSU men finished ninth overall with 35 points. The Grambling State women wrapped up 10
thplace with 25 total points.
