BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) announced its 2026 preseason softball honors Tuesday, with Grambling State leading the way behind Preseason Player of the Year
Kamryn Broussard.
Broussard, the reigning SWAC Player of the Year, earned First Team All-SWAC preseason honors after a dominant 2025 season in which she hit .447 with a 1.193 OPS.
She started 46 of 47 games, collecting 63 hits, including 14 doubles, five triples, and three home runs, while driving in 32 runs.
Broussard also posted a .681 slugging percentage and a .512 on-base percentage, finishing the season with 96 total bases.
Defensively, Broussard was just as reliable in the outfield recording 68 putouts and finishing the season with a .958 fielding percentage
Shortstop
Cadashia Collins also represented Grambling State on the preseason list, earning Second Team All-SWAC honors.
Collins appeared in 42 games with 39 starts and hit .365 with a .964 OPS.
She totaled 38 hits, including 10 doubles, drove in 28 runs, and reached base at a .474 clip.
Collins also anchored the Tigers infield defensively, recording 53 putouts and 86 assists while turning five double plays.
She finished the season with a .946 fielding percentage.
In the preseason poll, Grambling State was picked to finish fourth in the SWAC West.
