GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State Univeristy football head
Mickey Joseph announced the addition of 30 studnet-athletes to his 2026 signing class.
This year's class features 21 student-athletes with previous collegiate experience. It also has local flair, with 15 student-athletes hailing from the state of Louisiana.
"It was a very solid class. We wanted to make sure we sprinkled in some high school kids, but we also wanted to stay strong in the portal," said Joseph. "This class is a really solid class. We aren't done as we will complete this class in May. We're happy to have them and welcome them to Grambling."

Christopher "CJ" Davis [Baton Rouge, LA/ Coahoma C.C.]
Wide Receiver | 6-6 | 175
- Was a three-star prospect out of Live Oak HS in Watson, La.
- Named among the top 55 high school prospects in Louisiana.
- Was a two-time first-team all-parish and all-district honoree following his junior and senior seasons.
- Signed with South Alabama in 2022
- During the 2024 season at Cahoma CC he caught 23 passes for 274 yard and one TD.
Raiyen Oatis [ Donaldsonville, LA / Southwest C.C.]
Defensive Back | 5-11 | 180
- At Southwest Community College made 23 total tackles with 15 solo stops and two pass breakups
- All-District 8-3A safety at Donaldsonville High School
- Also played quarterback as a junior for the Tigers, before switching to the secondary full-time as a senior
- Also was a member of the DHS basketball team.
Kingston "Cheetah" Jones [New Orleans, LA | UT-San Antonio]

- Was a three-star prospect out of high John F. Kennedy High School
- Helped lead the Cougars to three district championships during his prep career … made 28 receptions for 478 yards as a senior. He caught a 29-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of a win over De La Salle to help clinch the district crown in 2024. He also had 199 receiving yards with TD catches of 87 and 67 yards in a victory against Warren Easton
- Signed with UTSA out of high school.
- Louisiana 3A 100-meter champion as a junior with a 10.68 at state, per MileSplit. Claimed silver in the 200 with a time of 21.38.
- Won a district championship with a 49.45 400. Ran a season-best 6.80 indoor 60 and placed third at the LHSAA State Indoor Championships.
Ran sophomore season-best times of 10.75 in the 100 and 21.41 in the 200 in Spring 2023.

Lantavious Murphy [Rayville, LA / Northwest Mississippi C.C. ]

- Played for head coach Bo Barton at River Oaks School...helped the Mustangs to a 12-0 record as a senior.
- Played multiple positions at River Oaks, totaling 2,793 yards of total offense and 47 touchdowns.
- Named a Gatlinburg All-American...also played basketball at River Oaks during his senior season...previously competed at Rayville High School from his freshman to junior seasons.
Lonell Cunningham II [Arlington, TX / North Alabama]

- Transferring from North Alabama. Played in 11 games, making 44 total tackles with 26 solo stops. Had four pass breakups and one QB hurry
- Prepped at Arlington Lamar High School in Texas.

- Also lettered in basketball, track and soccer ... Graduated in 2023.

- A three-star rated recruit out of Edison High School
- Held offers from multiple power four programs including Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Miami and Ole Miss. Signed with the University of South Florida out of high school.
- Made 12 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 sacks. Made a career-high four tackles versus Tulsa.
Brandon Elam [Brandon, Miss. / Holmes C.C.]

Ben Drake [Nashville, Tenn. / Hawaii]
