GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University baseball team has been picked to finished fourth in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) preseason baseball standings.
GSU was picked with 143 points. Defending champion Bethune-Cookman was picked first with 209 points and 12 first-place votes. In second was Florida A&M (185) who was followed by Alabama State (178). Behind Grambling State was Jackson State (141), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (136), Southern (118), Texas Southern (84), Prairie View A&M (70), Alabama A&M ( 65), Alcorn State (38) and Mississippi Valley State (37).
The Tigers, who went 26-28 overall and 18-11 in conference play last season, reached the SWAC Baseball semifinals before bowing out the Florida A&M.
Grambling State opens the 2026 season on Friday, February 13 in the MLB HBCU Power Series versus Alcorn State at Trustman Park in Pearl, Miss. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
