GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State Tigers softball team fell to Northwestern State, 10–0 on Tuesday afternoon at the GSU Softball Complex.

Northwestern State got on the board in the first inning when Makynlie Jones grounded out to shortstop, bringing home the game's first run.

The Demons broke the game open in the second inning scoring four runs.

Northwestern State continued to add on in the third inning with four more runs.

Becnel drove in a run on a groundout while a fielding error allowed another run to score.

The Demons later added a run on a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by JT Smith to push the advantage to 9–0.

Northwestern State added its final run in the fourth inning when Sara Kate Booker singled up the middle to bring home another run.

Grambling State managed one hit in the contest coming from Tavia Leadon.

Hailei Harrell took the loss in the circle for the Tigers after allowing nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits across three innings.

Jaidan Richard pitched the final two innings in relief allowing one run on two hits while striking out two.

Mattison Buster earned the win for Northwestern State after tossing four innings and allowing just one hit while striking out three.



UP NEXT
Grambling State returns to Southwestern Athletic Conference play on March 13 when the Tigers travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to open a three-game series against Southern. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
