Tell Leads Tigers with Record Performance at TCU Alumni Invitational

FORT WORTH, TX. | The Grambling State track and field team turned in an impressive performance at the TCU Alumni Invitational.

Marissa Tell now holds the school record after pacing the Tigers with a record-breaking performance in the women's triple jump.

She captured the event title with a mark of 42 feet, 10.75 inches a distance that ranks as a potential NCAA regional qualifier.

Grambling State showcased its depth in the event with three top-10 finishes, as Jada David placed fourth at 41-1.5 and Jazmine Carraway finished seventh with a jump of 40-5.

On the track Leterance Fleming captured the men's 400-meter hurdles title clocking a time of 53.38.

Savantez Phillips added a third-place finish in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.47.

Aamerie Anderson recorded a top-10 finish and personal best in the women's 100-meter hurdles placing 10th with a personal-best time of 14.03.

Issac Jenkins contributed with a sixth-place finish in the men's long jump, recording a mark of 23-1.75.

In field events, Carson Lowe posted a sixth-place finish in the men's javelin with a throw of 188 ft.

Madison Holloway placed eighth in the women's high jump, clearing 5-3.
