STARKVILLE, Miss. |Â The Grambling State track and field team delivered a historic and highly competitive showing at the 2026 Alumni Bulldog Relays, highlighted by a record-breaking performance in the javelin and a pair of top-three finishes in the triple jump.
Carson Lowe made history for the Tigers, breaking the school record in the javelin throw with a mark of 61.57 meters (202 feet).
Lowe's record-setting performance led a strong day for Grambling State in the field events.
Marissa Tell led the way for Grambling State with a first-place finish in the women's triple jump, recording a mark of 12.78 meters (41-11.25).
Jada David added to the Tigers success in the event, placing third with a jump of 12.01 meters (39-5).
In the field events,
Madison Holloway secured a third-place finish in the women's high jump, clearing 1.63 meters (5-4.25).
Shamya Joiner added a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.74 meters (18-10).
Taniyah Thomas turned in a strong performance in the women's discus placing fourth with a throw of 45.26 meters (148-6).
On the track, the Tigers turned in competitive times in the men's 110 meter hurdles, led by
Savantez Phillips (14.53) who placed third.
In the mens 400-meter hurdles
Leterance Fleming placed fourth with a time of 52.69.
Nick Bailey led the Tigers in the men's high jump (2.04m) placing fourth.
In the long jump,
Issac Jenkins placed fourth for Grambling State (7.07m).
