BATON ROUGE, La. | The Grambling State University track & field team finished the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Championships on high note with multiple athletes earning podium finishes.
Marissa Tell, who is headed to the NCAA East Regional later this month, secured second place in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.90m.
Teammate
Jada David grabbed third place with a jump of 12.54m.
Earlier in the day,
Madison Holloway finished strong in the women's high jump, claiming second place (1.67m).
Nick Bailey also turned in a podium finish for the Tigers in the men's high jump, placing third after clearing a personal-best 2.12 meters (6-11.50).
The mark ranks No. 2 among HBCU performers and No. 59 nationally in Division I this season.
Taniyah Thomas added points in the women's discus placing fifth with a toss of 44.93 meters.
On the track, freshman Leterance Fleming scored in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a fourth-place finish after clocking 52.98.
Savantez Phillips also earned points for Grambling State in the men's 110-meter hurdles finishing fifth in 14.23.
The Tigers men's 4x100-meter relay team placed fifth with a season-best time of 40.89, recording the No. 22 HBCU mark this season.
