GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State baseball team earned the No. 5 seed in the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Tournament. The tournament begins on Wednesday and is scheduled to take place at Rickwood Field in Birmingham Ala. from May 20-24.
The Tigers are set to face No. 4 seed Alabama State on Wednesday at 12 p.m.
GSU earned the fifth seed after finished the regular season with a 21-30 overall record and an 18-12 mark in SWAC play. ASU wrapped up the regular season 30-21 overall and 20-11 in conference.
Both teams have faced each other four times this season, splitting the season series. On Feb. 24, Grambling State and Alabama State faced each other in the Andre Dawson Classic which the Hornets won 14-5. In March, the Tigers took the three-game weekend series two games to one.
