GRAMBLING, La. | Grambling State University women's soccer head coach Chris Logan announced the addition of Eric Belcher to his staff on Tuesday morning.
Belcher joins GSU after spending the past season at Delaware State University as an Assistant Coach.
He brings more than 16 years of collegiate coaching experience to Grambling State, with a proven track record of program building and player development across the NCAA Division II, NAIA and NJCAA levels.
Throughout his career, Belcher has guided programs to national tournament appearances, conference championships and academic honors while developing high-performing teams and well-rounded student-athletes.
Most recently, Belcher helped lead Delaware State to a historic turnaround during the 2025 season.
After the Hornets finished last in the Northeast Conference in 2024, Delaware State improved to seventh in 2025 while recording its highest win total since 2014. The Hornets also produced 12 NEC weekly honors and earned the program's first two All-Conference selections, including a Second Team All-NEC honoree and an NEC All-Rookie Team selection.
Prior to Delaware State, Belcher served as the head women's soccer coach at Eastern New Mexico University from 2022-24.
During his tenure, his players earned three Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team selections, one Lone Star All-Conference honor, 10 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selections and three Lone Star Player of the Week awards.
In 2021, Belcher led Ohio Valley University to a 13-2-1 overall record and a perfect 13-0 mark in conference play. The program captured both the River States Conference regular-season and tournament championships while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament and finishing among the top 10 in the NAIA regional final rankings.
Belcher was named RSC Coach of the Year, while his players earned RSC Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors. The program also produced two first-team and five second-team all-conference selections, seven academic all-conference honorees and four RSC Player of the Week awards.
Earlier in his career, Belcher served as head women's soccer coach at Glenville State University, assistant men's soccer coach at Salem University and head women's and men's soccer coach at Cecil College.
Throughout those stops, he emphasized player development, academic excellence and competitive success.
His players earned numerous conference, regional and national honors, including a Mountain East All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, 11 MEC Commissioners Academic Honor Roll distinctions and five Mountain East Conference Academic Team honors.
At the NJCAA level, his players also earned a Maryland Division I First Team selection, an NJCAA All-American nomination, an NJCAA Academic All-American honor, an NJCAA All-Maryland Academic All-American honor, two NJCAA National Top 25 goal scorer selections, a Maryland Division I Second Team selection and another Maryland Division I First Team selection.
Belcher earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Alderson Broaddus University, where he played NCAA Division II soccer from 2004-09. A four-year starter, he helped lead the program to the 2008 Conference Tournament Championship and earned All-Conference honors twice. His impact on the program was later recognized with his selection to the Alderson Broaddus All-Decade Team.
