Del Lee-Collins

Delphfrine Lee-Collins is a native of New Orleans, La. and begins his first season at Grambling State University as the defensive backs coach. 
 
Lee-Collins began his coaching career as an assistant coach at McNeese State University.  During his tenure as cornerbacks coach, he developed two All-Conference Defensive Backs.
 
Prior to McNeese, Lee-Collins returned to his native New Orleans foots in the Fall of 2008 and committed his efforts and experience in rebuilding the St. Augustine Football Program.  He worked as defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator and assistant head coach. He has subsequently served as co-defensive coordinator at both Landry Walker High School and John Ehret High School, as well as Head Coach at Sophie B. Wright Charter in New Orleans. 
 
Lee-Collins played collegiate football at McNeese State University, where he played in two Southland Conference Championships.  In addition, he held the record for most interceptions in a season, and ended a four-year career holding the record for field goal blocks. 
 
After graduating from McNeese, Lee-Collins began his professional playing career with the New York Jets.  He has a total of five years’ experience as a professional defensive back in the National Football League and the Arena Football League.
 
Lee-Collins resides in Houston, Texas with his wife, Cheryl.  He has two sons: Kiazer and Caleb.
 
One of his many mottos is “There are no substitutes for discipline or humility. There are no shortcuts to success.”  His message is very simple: Integrity, Discipline and Fundamentals.
