Jordan Hernandez begins his first season as a Graduate Assistant on Coach Crarey’s inaugural staff at Grambling State University, bringing with him a decorated collegiate career marked by leadership, excellence, and historic team success.
A proud native of South Florida, Hernandez played under Coach Crarey at St. Thomas University from 2022–2024, serving as Team Captain for both seasons. During his tenure, the Bobcats posted a 48–17 record and earned back-to-back invitations to the NAIA National Tournament.
In 2022–2023, Hernandez helped lead the Bobcats to a program-record 26 wins, including the best home record in school history at 15–1. That season culminated to the Round of 16 at the NAIA Tournament, the highest finish in program history.
The following year, Hernandez led St. Thomas to a 22–9 overall record, including 10–4 in conference play, securing the Sun Conference Regular Season Championship. This leadership contributed to ranking 21st nationally. Hernandez’s impact was recognized with Sun Conference Second Team All-Conference honors, and he was also named to the Sun Conference All-Academic Team for his achievements in the classroom.
Prior to St. Thomas, Hernandez played at Life University in Marietta, Georgia, under coach Kevin Easley. Over the course of his five-year NAIA career, Hernandez surpassed 1,000 career points and was elected Team Captain by his peers for four consecutive seasons, a testament to his leadership on and off the court.
Hernandez graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Thomas University with a BBA in Sports Marketing. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Administration at Grambling State, where he looks to channel his playing experience and leadership into developing the Tigers’ program under Coach Crarey.
