Coach LaMonte Vaughn, Jr. is in his third year at Grambling State University. His main focus is coaching sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers for the men's and women's track and field teams. Coach Vaughn, Jr. is a 1997 Graduate of the University of Kentucky, majoring in kinesiology and business.

Marshall University: 13 school records and 1 MAC champion (BJ Epps 400 hurdles 51.13)
University of Washington: Coached Ashley Lodree to 6 NCAA All American awards and 4 NCAA finals appearances in the hurdles. Lodree’s highest finish at the NCAA meet was 3rd indoors in the 60h in 2007. Lodree still holds UW school records in the 60h (8.01) and 100h (12.95) both were ranked in the top 50 in the world. Coached Shane Charles to the 2006 Pac 10 400 hurdles championships and Grenadian National Record and UW school record of 49.51 for a top 50 world ranking.
Coached Jordan Boase to 2 NCAA finals at 400m in 2008. Boase placed 3rd indoors in 46.31 and 4th outdoors in 44.83. Boase recorded Personal Bests of 44.82 in the 400m and 20.37 in the 200m for top 50 World Rankings in the 400m.
UW made 2 NCAA finals in the Men’s 4x400m relay, placing 3rd indoors in 2006 with a school record of 3:07.03 and 8th outdoors. The men set a school record in 2005 of 3:03.85. UW’s Men’s 4x100m relay made 2 NCAA appearances in 2005 and 2008 running 39.43 and 39.52. The 2008 men’s 4x1 won the first conference championship in school history in the Men’s 4x1.

UCLA: Coached the Men’s 4x1 to the NCAA final and the Pac 10 Championship in 39.45. Max Dyce made 2 NCAA regional appearances in the 200m with a best of 20.72 RJ Frasier made an NCAA regional appearance in the 400 hurdles with a best of 50.92
Louisiana Tech: Coached Jeremy Hicks to the CUSA conference Championship and the NCAA indoor meet in 2016 with a CUSA Championship and Louisiana Tech school record of 6.64. Hicks also made an NCAA regional appearance at 100m and 200m with bests of 10.23 and 20.72. Also Coached Grambling State volunteer assistant Tremaine Maloney to CUSA runner up finishes in the 60 hurdles and 110 hurdles in 7.89 and 13.80.
