Deanna McFadgon, MS, ATC, joined the Grambling State University staff in August 2026 as the Head Athletic Trainer for Olympic Sports. In this role, she oversees sports medicine operations for all Olympic sports while providing direct athletic training coverage for soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and baseball.
Prior to joining Grambling State, McFadgon spent a year providing athletic training services to high school athletes in Bossier City, Louisiana. She also gained extensive experience during her graduate clinical education, with the majority of her student athletic training experience focused on football, including clinical experiences with SEC programs. Her diverse clinical background includes experience working with athletes across multiple sports and patient populations, as well as an athletic training student immersion experience with NASA's Kennedy Space Center.
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, McFadgon earned her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her master's degree in Athletic Training from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Mcfadgon is a BOC- certified athletic trainer and a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA).
