Dr. Michael Nammour is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery who specializes in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Nammour graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University and received his medical degree from LSU Health Shreveport. He then completed his residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans where he received multiple awards throughout his training. During residency, he was at the top of his program serving as Resident Chair of Sports Medicine for 3 years as well as being selected as Administrative Chief Resident. He consistently scored above the 95th percentile on the annual national Orthopaedic In Training Examinations, he won Research Resident of the Year in back to back years, and was also named Clinical Resident of the Year.

Following his highly accomplished residency, he attended the world-renowned Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he served as a team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. He was also a team physician for Division I athletes at the University of Pittsburgh and other colleges in the Pittsburgh area where he treated athletes across all sports such as football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling, swimming, tennis, and track among others. Dr. Nammour has numerous peer reviewed scientific publications on a variety of orthopaedic topics including innovative surgical technique videos and has presented at conferences both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Nammour has a special interest and training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, but treats a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions including arthroscopic, open, and reconstructive procedures of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle. He is certified in MAKO robotic hip and knee replacements as well as cutting edge cartilage restoration procedures. He is currently a member of multiple professional societies including: American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Nammour grew up in Ruston, Louisiana and is excited about bringing his advanced training to his home region to treat a variety of orthopaedic problems in patients of all ages.
