Erik Losey ( pronounced: LOW – C ) enters his first season at Grambling State University as the Offensive Line Coach and Run Game Coordinator with seventeen years of coaching experience in the collegiate ranks.

Losey comes to Grambling State after spending the 2024 season coaching the offensive line coach for The Sayre School in Lexington, KY.  In his only season for the Spartans, Losey served under Head Coach, Chad Pennington, where his unit paved the way in help winning the Single A State Championship in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and finished with a historical record of 15-0 in just it’s seventh season as a football program.  The entire offensive line unit were selected to First Team All-State in Class A and recorded zero sacks for the entire season.  The Spartans finished ranked number one in scoring offense for all classifications in the Commonwealth, along with being ranked top twenty-five in rushing.

Prior to Sayre, Losey served as the Offensive Line coach for Eastern Kentucky University, where his offensive line units recorded multiple All-Conference and All-American honors in his four seasons for the Colonels. Highlighted players include Payton Collins, John Stone, Vincent Munlin Jr., K’Rojhn Calbert and Josiah Ezirim, who was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the 2024 NFL Draft in the seventh round.  In the 2021/2022/2023 seasons; Losey’s units finished top thirty and top twenty with least given up sacks in the nation, and helped the Colonels achieve a top ten finish in 2022/2023 seasons in total offense.  In the 2024 Season; Losey’s unit ranked top three in the nation with least given up negative plays and was recognized by Matrix Analytical as one of the top five offensive line coaches in the nation. Losey also served as the Colonel’s Recruiting Coordinator for his first two seasons where the Colonels were responsible for the number one recruiting class in the Ohio Valley Conference. 

For the 2019 season, Losey served as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of South Carolina under Head Strength Coach, Jeff Dillman and Head Coach, Will Muschamp.  He worked specifically with the Gamecock offensive line, who was coached by Offensive Line Coach, Eric Wolford. 
Before South Carolina, Losey spent the 2018 and 2017 seasons as the Offensive Line coach under Head Coach, Jay Hopson. Losey unit helped the Golden Eagles to an 8-5 record in the 2017 season that earned them a trip to the Independence Bowl.  That season, Losey’s offensive line led Conference U.S.A. and was eleventh overall in the nation at the FBS level in fewest sacks allowed.  In addition, the Golden Eagles ranked third in the conference in total offense and fourth in passing, rushing and scoring.  Under Losey’s tutelage, Devin Farrior, Drake Dorbeck, and Arvin Fletcher all received All-Conference honors after the 2017 season.  The next year, Trace Clopton earned All-American honors, along with All-Conference as a true freshman.  Arvin Fletcher repeated All-Conference honors after the 2018 season as well.

For the 2014-2016 seasons, Losey served as the Offensive Line coach for East Tennessee State University, under Head Coach Carl Torbush.  This was the restart of the ETSU program that had been cut back in 2003.  During Losey’s time at ETSU, in just the second season in 2016, Ben Blackmon earned All-Conference honors. 
 
 
Losey came to ETSU from Alcorn State University, where he served as the Offensive Line coach in the 2013 season, under Head Coach, Jay Hopson.  Isaac Sampson was a first team selection to the All-American team, along with All-Conference.  Jon Scott and Detonio Dade were also All-Conference selections post the 2013 season.  During the 2013 season, Alcorn State was ranked first in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in fewest sacks allowed and ranked second in scoring offense.

During the 2012 season coaching Running Backs for Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC. In his only season in Buies Creek, Losey tutored Freshman Fullback, Dalton Dillon, to All-Conference honors.

Prior to Campbell, Losey spent the 2011 season at Webber International University where he coached the offensive line and was responsible for writing up the Warrior run game. He had two offensive linemen that were nominated for All-American honors under his direction.

During the 2009-2010 Seasons, Losey served as the Offensive Line Quality Control Coach with Florida State University. As a member of the Seminoles' staff, Losey assisted with the offensive line under legendary Offensive Line Coach, Rick Trickett, and served under Head Coaches, Jimbo Fisher ( 2010 ) , Bobby Bowden   ( 2009 ).  At the end of his two seasons with the Seminoles, Florida State finished with an overall record of 17 & 10, Atlantic Division Champs in the ACC, and two bowl victories in both the 2010 Gator Bowl and the 2010 Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

The Hixson, Tenn. native began his coaching career as the Offensive Graduate Assistant for Western Kentucky University during the Hilltoppers transition from Division I FCS to Division I FBS, joining the Sun Belt Conference.  Losey worked under Offensive Line Coach, Walter Wells and Head Coach, David Elson in the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Losey enjoyed a decorated playing career at both East Tennessee State, and Western Kentucky, starting all 47 games of his college career.
He began his college playing career at ETSU in 2002, where he was a Southern Conference Freshman of the Year nominee. After the 2003 season, ETSU discontinued its football program and Losey transferred to Western Kentucky University, where he was a Second Team All-Gateway Conference and a First Team All-Newcomer selection in 2004. As a senior, Losey was voted to American Football Coaches Association First Team All-American and Associated Press Third Team All-American teams.

In addition to gaining All-American status in 2005, Losey was named First Team All-Gateway Conference, while receiving National Lineman of the Week for his play against SEC member, Auburn University, and collected Conference ‘Player of the Week’ twice during the season. 
Losey graduated from W.K.U. with a double major earning his B.A. ( Bachelor of Arts ) degree in History and Social Studies in 2006. He, his wife, Kaitlyn, and their son, Hudson, reside in Ruston, LA
