Jackson, Ms.---The Grambling State Tigers basketball struggled tonight in a, 75-59, loss to the Tigers of Jackson State tonight in the JSU Williams ACC.
In the first half the Tigers fell behind early 15-1 five minutes into the game and could never recover as they trailed 39-26 at the half. Grambling shoot only 36-percent from the floor and struggled on the boards as they were out rebounded 30-15.
In the second half the Tigers closed the lead to ten at 47-37 with 13:00 remaining in the game but never cut the lead any closer than nine points. For the game Grambling would only shot 36-percent but held their turnovers down to 13 while recording 20 steals.
GSU was led by Donald Qualls and Ariece Perkins. Qualls tied a game high 25 points; while Perkins added 20. Lance Fuertado turned in four points and seven rebounds.
Jackson's Garrison Johnson paces the Tigers with 25 points with De'Shaun Jackson recording a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
