Grambling, LA --- The Grambling State Tigers made short work of Alcorn State in a, 73-58, win over the Braves tonight in the GSU Fred C. Hobdy Arena.
The Tigers fell behind early 5-0 but from that point on it was all Grambling as they went on to pull away by as much as 16 before taking a 34-20 lead at the half.
Tonight proved to be defensive gem for the Tigers as they dominated the boards particularly holding a 24-19 lead in defensive rebounds while recording 15 steals and creating 22 turnovers.
Grambling was led by Donald Quall's 21 points, five rebounds and four assists. Ariece Perkins added 12 points while Rupert Rose and Rydell Harris had 11 points apiece.
Ian Francis had game highs of 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Braves. Corey Anthoney turned in eight points and three rebounds.
The Tigers return to action this weekend when they travel to Houston, Texas to face Texas Southern.
