BIRMINGHAM---The Grambling State Tigers placed a total of six on the 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference preseason All-Conference football team announced today by the SWAC Media Relations office.
First team members include offensive lineman Sanford Banks (6-4, 319, R-Jr.); on defense, linebacker Cliff Exama (6-0, 220, R-Sr.) and lineman Jomarcus Savage (6-2, 265, Jr.) and on special teams place kicker Zoltan Riazzo (6-0, 181, Jr.).
Receiving second team honors are offensive lineman Jullian Wyndon (6-1, 283, Jr.) and defensive lineman Antoine Rogers (6-2, 286, R-Sr.).
The Tigers, who finished second in the SWAC western division a year ago, where picked to win the west this year with 103 points (12 1st place), ahead of defending champions Texas Southern with 79 points (8 1st place).
The preseason All-Conference team is selected by SWAC head football coaches, SID's and selected media.
