Grambling, La. (June 27, 2012) – The Grambling State University baseball team's third baseman
Thomas Brown, III continues to be recognized for his amazing 2012 season. Brown was named to the 2012 All- Louisiana Baseball First Team.
“It was a pleasure to be honored by Louisiana as one of its top players. I'm just glad my hard work in the offseason has finally paid off. I just hope that I can repeat this again next season, as well as win the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship,” said Brown.
Brown is no stranger to awards, as he was selected the 2012 SWAC Hitter of the Year. Brown led the league in hitting (.412) and triples (7). He slid into second in slugging for the conference with an average of .601; .472 on base percentage and 15 doubles.
When asked what motivates him, Brown stated, “The fact that I have a chance to be drafted like my teammate
Chris Wolfe. I want to be a positive role model for my younger sister, who is playing softball back in Georgia.”
