Grambling, La (June 06, 2012) – The Grambling State University baseball team has reason to celebrate for the third year in a row as
Chris Wolfe, Houston native, gets drafted to the Oakland Athletics “As” in the 30
th round.
Wolfe said, “I was excited when I got the news but I wasn't watching when they called my name. The scout actually called and delivered the news to me; it took me three hours to accept it”
Wolfe led the Southwestern Athletic Conference during his senior campaign with a .473 on-base percentage, 49 walks, 46 runs scored and batted .321.
“I can bring hard work, dedication and experience to the As. I was on the championship team as the starting short stop, which is the position I was drafted in, but I am willing to play other positions,” stated Wolfe.
The GSU standout left these words for his Tiger teammates, “It's not bad to work hard. Don't stop working at what you love to do.”
