Tigers and Panthers Duel in a Three Game Series on the Diamond

GRAMBLING, Louisiana (February 22, 2013) – The Tiger Baseball team may has opened a lot of eyes across the south since playing in a tight game against Mississippi State on Tuesday in Starkville.  Grambling lost the game to the #5 Bulldogs by the score of 2-0.

Now the Tigers will have their second weekend series of the year, this time in Atlanta to take on Georgia State.  Grambling will face the Panthers in a three game series starting today.  The Tigers are averaging three runs per game so far this season and are led in hitting by Darren farmer, who is batting .400 on the young season and has three RBI's.  Hector Mejias and Juan Bueno are both batting over .300 so far this season. 

Defensively for the Tigers, they have reduced their errors in each of their first four games.  “One of our goals each for every game that we play is to not commit any errors”, said Head Coach James Cooper.  “We need play solid on defense and also make sure that we stay ahead in the count with our pitching. “
