GRAMBLING, Louisiana (March 28, 2013) - The Grambling State University Tiger baseball team begins a three game series with Texas Southern University (TSU) this weekend. With the Easter weekend upon us, the Tigers will play a double header on Friday starting at noon and the final game of the series Saturday at 1 p.m.
Last season the Tigers scored 65 runs against Texas Southern and won the series taking five out of six games from TSU. Over the last three years the Tigers have won ten games, while dropping eight against Texas Southern.
The Tigers will send
Richard Bautista to the mound in game one of the double header on Friday and
Edvardas Matusevicius in game two. In game three the tigers will send
Matt Mitchell to the mound. The Tigers come into the weekend series in last place in the division, but just one game behind UAPB and Texas Southern, who are both tied at 4-5 in the division.
The Tigers lost a tough game against Louisiana Tech on Tuesday by the score of 6-0. The loss broke the Tigers five game winning streak.
