Tiger Football team Loses to ULM
Grambling, La. (September 7, 2013) – The Grambling State University Tigers lost a tough game to the University of Monroe by the score of 48-10 Saturday night at Malone Stadium in Monroe.
The Warhawks struck first as Cortney Davis took the opening kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown to make the score 7-0 ULM.
The G-Men would answer on their first offensive drive of the game as
D.J. Williams would complete a 10 play 75 yard drive with a touchdown pass to
Anthony McGhee to tie the score at 7-7.
"I think D.J. threw the ball better today than he did last week," said Head coach Doug Williams. "He found his receivers and did a good job."
ULM would strike again with 4:05 remaining in the first quarter when Kolton Browning would complete an 18 yard touchdown pass to Harley Scioneaux to make the score 14-7 Warhawks.
The Warhawks would score for the third time in the first quarter when Jyruss Edwards would run over the right side for a 19 yard scamper to make the score 21-7 ULM.
On the first play of the second quarter Kolton Browning capped off a 5 play 63 yard drive with a 16 yard touchdown pass to Je'Ron Hamm extending the ULM lead to 28-7.
Kolton Browning would get his third touchdown pass of half for the Warhawks as he connected with Kenzee Jackson for an 11 yard score to make the score 35-7 at the half.

Justin Mantin would add two field goals in the fourth quarter for the Warhawks, while
Johnathan Wallace kicked a 25 yard field goal for the Tigers late making the final score 48-10.
"Overall I thought the team played well as hard as they could," said Coach Doug Williams. "We made some mistakes that shot ourselves in the foot and the defense was just worn out. We have to give credit to ULM as they are a great team and had 18 guys back."
The Tigers will step out of conference next weekend as they will travel to Kansas City, Missouri to face the Lincoln University Tigers in the Missouri Classic at legendary Arrowhead Stadium. Gametime next weekend is at 4:30 p.m.
