Box Score HOUSTON, Texas-- A' Torrie Shine and Richard Freeman combined for 30 points wasn't enough to make a push to defeat Texas Southern (7-10, 4-0) Saturday night. Shine finished with 18 points and Freeman added 12 points as the GSU Tigers now stand 10^th (2-18, 0-5) in Southwest Athletic Conference standings.
 
TSU put up a 34-17 lead on the tigers at the half. Later in the 2^nd half the GSU Tigers scored 10 unanswered points to come within a 10 point deficit with 1:50 left in the game.  After a couple of baskets that couldn't seem to find the bottom of the net, Grambling's Rally fell short. 
 
 
Texas Sothern's Junior Forward Chris Thomas and Senior Guard Madarious Gibbs combined 26 points in the game (13 points each).  Thomas also had two steals and one block while Gibbs had two steals.   
 
The Tigers will travel to take on Prairie View A&M University Monday, Jan. 19^th  at 7:30 p.m.
