BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Grambling quarterback Johnathan Williams, defensive star Deion Jones of LSU and Louisiana-Monroe punter Chris Qualls received this week's Louisiana Sports Writers Association college football player of the week honors.

Williams scored four touchdowns, three passing, in Grambling's win over Southern in the Bayou Classic that sent them to the SWAC Championship game. Jones had 11 tackles in LSU's 19-7 win over Texas A&M and Qualls averaged 43.8 yards per punt in ULM's narrow loss to Hawaii.

Earlier this season, on Oct. 6, Williams was chosen as Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the recognition with LSU's Leonard Fournette, who was able to win the offensive player of the week honor from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association for the fourth straight week. LSU's Fournette became the first player in SEC history to have three straight 200-yard rushing games in a 44-22 win over Eastern Michigan. Williams had five touchdowns passing as Grambling defeated Jackson State, 59-27.
