Box Score Grambling, La. --- Despite a slow start, the Grambling State University Tigers had a chance to win the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match-up against Mississippi Valley State University on Monday night, but ultimately came up short losing 68-65.
Grambling came back from a 15-point halftime deficit and tied the game at 65 with 38 seconds left in the game following a three-point play and then two free throws by
Richard Freeman.
The Tigers 3-point attempt with two second on the clock was off the mark MVSU (4-18, 3-6 Southwestern) built a 39-24 halftime lead, despite missing all eight of its 3-point attempts, as it held Grambling to 25 percent shooting from the floor.
Remond Brown led Grambling State (2-17, 0-9) with 16 points and eight boards. Freeman finished with nine points.
Next, Grambling State will travel to take on rival Southern University Saturday, Feb. 7
th at 5:00 p.m. in the F.G. Clark Activity Center
