Box Score GRAMBLING, La. --- The Grambling State University Tigers baseball team took the field as the home team at R.W.E. Jones Park on Tuesday evening for the first time in weeks, as they looked to tame the visiting Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech. Despite being back in familiar territory on the diamond, both team combined for 31 hits and 29 runs over a nearly four hour game the GSU Tigers fell to LA Tech 12-17.

Dylan Spearman earned an RBI on a ground ball to third, followed by a single to right field by Medina in the bottom of the fourth inning made it a 7-3 lead for the Bulldogs. GSU added three more runs in the same inning after
Desmond Stegall roped an RBI double and leadoff hitter
Edwin Drexler continued the rally with a two-run single to right field to cut LA Tech's lead to 7-6.
The Tigers was able to narrow the lead for the second time in the competition in the bottom of the sixth when second baseman
Yariel Medina recorded his second home run of the game, a three-run shot to left field to make it an 11-9 lead in favor of the Bulldogs. After a pitching change in the bottom of sixth for LA Tech
Hunter Mitchell came in to relieve Baughman, Grambling added another run on an RBI double to left by
Larry Barraza, which made it just an 11-10 advantage for Tech after six innings of play.
Grambling's momentum picked up with the Tigers tying the game 11-11 in the bottom of the seventh when
Roger Diaz doubled which helped Medina set up his fifth and game-tying RBI of the game with a single down the left field line.
Creighton Hoover (0-3) was the pitcher who recorded the loss for the Tigers making this his third of the season. Hoover pitched six innings, allowing nine runs - seven earned - on seven hits after coming on in relief of starter
Marlon Pruitt in the second inning.
GSU's second baseman
Yariel Medina led the team after recording five RBI in a 3-for-5 effort, including two home runs of the night. Grambling totaled 19 hits in the nearly four hour competition.
Next, the Tigers will travel to take on Lamar University on April 7
th at 4:00 p.m. Following that competition the Tigers will return home for a five-game home stand opening things up in a Southwestern Athletic Conference match-up against Texas Southern University on April 11
th at 12:00 p.m.
