G-Men shoot to regain momentum

Hearns
The Grambling State University Tigers (6-13; 3-4 SWAC) will face the Lions of the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (4-17; 2-5 SWAC) Saturday (January 30) in Pine Bluff at 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers want to regain some momentum after two losses. Though three GSU players are averaging double digits, the team still can't find the right rhythm. The Tigers have yet to win a SWAC road game with a 0-3 conference road record, making road games their biggest challenge so far this season.

Freshman guard Nigel Riberio leads the team with 12.7 points per game, and he leads in eight other categories. Junior guard Deonte Hearns is a key factor for the Tigers. Hearns averages 11.0 points per game and he leads the team in rebounding with 8.2 per game. Still, the Grambling State team will need help from the bench to pull off a victory.

The G-Men could play well and come away with a win. The Lions have yet to win a home game. The Lions are 2-5 in conference play and 0-2 on their home court. Junior guard Ghiavonni Robinson leads the Lions in 12 categories and averages 11.7 points per game. The Tigers rank third in defense and second in defensive rebounds, so the Lions will have to work hard to outscore GSU.
