Box Score GRAMBLING, La. – Alexis Austin and Cassidy Jannson had 15 and 10 kills, respectively, to lead the Texas Southern women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Grambling State on Monday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
TSU improved to 6-8 overall and 4-3 in SWAC play after winning the match 25-14, 18-25, 26-24, 25-20. GSU fell to 7-15 on the season and 3-4 in the conference.
GSU had three players with 10 or more kills.
Kevreion Ward led the way with 13 kills, while
Talicia Lang and
Chasity Nicks had 10 each. Defensively,
Erineka Mollere had a match-high 18 digs. Lang and Nicks also had double-digit digs (13 and 12, respectively).
Tess Reynolds had a match-best three solo blocks.
L'Muriell Thrower recorded a double-double of 19 assists and 10 digs and
Diemend Richardson finished with 18 assists.
Jannson paced the TSU defense with 16 digs. Erin Adams had 15 digs, while Ellena Torres added 10. Asia Howard had a match-high 37 assists and added five digs and two block assists.
