Tigers Turn Attention to Jackson State

Grambling, La. (Men's basketball) -  The Grambling State University Tigers' basketball team is focused after ending a three-game losing streak with a much-needed 61-58 win over Prairie View A&M University on Monday.

The team shifts its focus to a road game in Jackson, Miss. with Jackson State University on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Grambling's Avery Ugba is a mad man playing exceptionally well as he posted a double-double in the Tigers last five games. Ugba is nearly averaging a double-double with 12.2 points and 9.8 rebounds. In the last five games, he is averaging 20.4 points and 11.3 rebounds. His best game occurred in the 67-66 lost to Southern in which he scored a game high 26 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.

Grambling State (11-15, 6-7 SWAC) trounced Jackson State 72-57 in their last meeting. Grambling State 15 point win was their largest conference win of the season.

JSU (11-15, 7-6 SWAC) is currently on a two-game win streak as the team picked up huge wins over Texas Southern 71-62 and Prairie View A&M at home. Yettra Specks is Jackson State's sharp shooter leading the team in points their last 6-of-9 games. Specks notched 32 points against PV and 24 points against Texas Southern.
