GRAMBLING, La. (Baseball) -- The Grambling State University baseball team will host Prairie View A&M University from Friday, March 31 to Saturday, April 1 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference weekend series. The Tigers will have one game on Friday night with first pitch set for 6 p.m. at R.W.E. Jones Park at Wilbert Ellis Field. On Saturday, Grambling will have doubleheader with first pitch at 1 p.m. The game scheduled for Sunday was moved to Saturday as the area expects inclement weather.

James Cooper and the G-Men have been road warriors as the team has played 24 total road games this season. Currently, the Tigers are 8-16, overall, and 4-5 in SWAC play.
GSU comes into the contest after going 1-2 against Texas Southern University.
Daniel Barnett was the top hitter in that series with a .600 batting average going 6-of-12 for a double and two runs batted in. Grambling's pitching corps was led by
Daniel Beizer with a 2.70 earned run average and two strike outs.
The Panthers (10-21, 4-5 SWAC) enter the weekend after sweeping Huston-Tillotson 2-0 on Tuesday. PVAMU's bats are led by Cody Den Beste with a .380 batting average with 20 runs batted in, nine doubles, four triples, and two home runs.Corbin Jamison is the fastest Panther with nine stolen bases. Prairie View pitchers are led by Michael Layton with an ERA of 2.08.
