Box Score GRAMBLING, La. – The Grambling State baseball team fell 11-7 to Texas Southern on Sunday afternoon at R.W.E. Jones Park. The contest concluded the three-game series between the teams that began with a doubleheader on Friday.
The game was close until the eighth inning, featuring five ties along the way. With the game tied at 7-all heading into the top of the eight, Jose Camacho hit a two-run home run to put Texas Southern (16-27, 14-9 SWAC) up 10-7. TSU scored one more run in the ninth on a homer by Kameron Dukes.
For Grambling (19-26, 12-9 SWAC),
Tray Bell and
Daniel Barnett each went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Bell hit two homers and drove in five runs.
Marshawn Taylor and
Ace Felder both finished with one hit in three at bats and scored one run apiece.
Grambling travels to Biloxi, Miss. on Tuesday to play a neutral-site game against the University of New Orleans. The first pitched is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
