Box Score TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – In the final game of the regular season, the Grambling State baseball team fell 12-2 to the University of Alabama in eight innings on Wednesday night at Sewell- Thomas Stadium.
The Tigers' runs came via an RBI single by
Marshawn Taylor in the seventh inning and
Daniel Barnett's RBI double to left center in the eighth.
Alabama (19-29) was powered by two grand slams that came in the second and eighth innings.
For Grambling (22-28),
Wesley Drain went 2-for-4, while Barnett had two hits in three at-bats.
Daniel Beizer suffered the loss after giving up nine hits and eight runs (seven earned) in two innings.
The Tigers are off until next week when the play in the SWAC Tournament in New Orleans. Official tournament seedings will be released after Texas Southern and Southern play a make-up game on Sunday that was cancelled earlier in the season because of weather.
