Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. – After trailing 5-1 going after the top of the eighth inning, the Grambling State baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the frame to tie the game, but it was not enough as the Tigers ended up falling 7-6 to Alcorn in 11 innings on the first day of the SWAC Tournament at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
GSU (22-29) will take on Western Division third seed Prairie View A&M at noon on Thursday in an elimination game. The teams met six times this season with Grambling winning four of the six games.
With the game tied at 5-all, Alcorn's Der'Vincent Hamilton hit a solo home run to left center field to put the Braves up 6-5 in the top of the ninth inning.
Not to be outdone, GSU posted a run in the bottom of the frame on
Nick Wheeler's RBI single to bring the score to 6-all, forcing extra innings.
The Tigers could not manage any more runs, while the Braves got one across in the top of the 11
th to win the game.
Wheeler finished with three hits in five at-bats and scored once.

Marshawn Taylor each went 2-for-5 with Taylor scoring twice.
Raul Baduel suffered the loss after pitching two innings in relief. He allowed one hit and one earned run.
Issac O'Bear started the game and pitched seven innings. He gave up four hits, three runs (two earned) and struck out five batters.
