#24/#25 Grambling State set to take on Jackson State

GSU plays host to JSU for the first time since 2012

GRAMBLING, La. | For the first time in five years, the Grambling State University football team will take on the Jackson State University Tigers at home in Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 6:02 p.m.
 
The game will be aired live on ESPN3 (Eric Clemons will have the play-by-play, while Jay Walker will be the color commentator), also can be seen tape-delayed on EPSNU at 10:30 p.m. Grambling State will broadcast the game on the Grambling State Sports Radio Network. The game can be heard in Ruston (KPCH 99.3 FM) and in Monroe (KJMG 97.3 FM). The Tigers' broadcast crew of Santoria Black, Ossie Clark, Leon Thomas and Nick Harrison will call all of the action.
 
"It's going to be bananas because there will be a ton of people here," Grambling State head coach Broderick Fobbs said. "It'll be standing-room only in Robinson Stadium and I wouldn't have it any other way."
 
What to Watch For
* This will be the first time since 2012 that Grambling State has played host to Jackson State
* Grambling State (1-1) is seeking its second consecutive season win after defeating Northwestern State 23-10.
* GSU is looking to avoid a loss in Robinson Stadium, which hasn't occurred since the 2015 season, when Grambling State lost to Bethune-Cookman 56-53.
* Jackson State (0-2) is anticipating their first win of the season after falling to Tennessee State 17-15.
 
Grambling State-Jackson State Connections
* Grambling State leads the series, 45-21-1.
* GSU head coach Broderick Fobbs has yet to lose to Jackson State.
* The last Grambling State loss on the field came in the 2012 season (53-17), but the following season GSU forfeited their contest with Jackson State.
* Grambling State won the last matchup 35-14 in 2016.
* In the 2016 matchup, Grambling State jumped out to a 28-0 lead midway through the third quarter and didn't look back as GSU held Jackson State to just 79 yards rushing.

* Grambling State students are free with a valid ID and MUST enter through Gate 4.
* The Ticket Office is open Monday-Thursday (7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and Friday (7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.)
