GRAMBLING, La. | After taking a week off, the Grambling State University women's basketball team continues Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play as they travel to Pine Bluff, Ark. to play Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, followed by a trip to Itta Bena, Miss. to take on Mississippi Valley State University on Monday. Tipoff for Saturday's game in K.L. Johnson Complex is set for 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Monday in the Harrison Complex.

Grambling State (7-11 overall, 4-3 SWAC) dropped an 80-72 decision to Jackson State last Saturday.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3-14, 1-6) has lost its last six SWAC games and Mississippi Valley State (0-19, 0-7) has been winless this season.

ABOUT ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
- The Lady Golden Lions fell to Alcorn State, 80-77, and Prairie View A&M, 64-52 last Saturday.
- Arkansas-Pine Bluff is averaging 54.0 points per game, while its opponents are averaging 71.0 points. UAPB is shooting 33.6 (318-of-946) from the floor and 66.9 (240-of-359) from the charity stripe.
- Faith Ohanta leads the Lady Golden Lions in double digits at 13. 0 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, while Destiny Brewton is averaging 8.4 points and 2.5 boards per game.

- The Devilettes have been unsuccessful this season without winning one game.

- Grambling State is coming off an 80-72 loss to Jackson State on last Saturday.
- Monisha Neal finished with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Grambling State offense. Jazmin Boyd came off the bench and scored 11 points, including 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Shakyla Hill registered 11 points, six assists and four boards.

- Shakyla Hill surpassed the 1,000-point plateau on Dec. 10 in a 73-49 loss at Alabama.
- Shakyla Hill became the fourth NCAA Division I women's basketball player in history to register a quadruple-double as she finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals and 10 assists against Alabama State (Jan. 3).

- Grambling State was picked to finish second in the preseason coaches' poll as voted on by conference head coaches and sports information directors. GSU guard Shakyla Hill was selected the SWAC Preseason Player of the Year.

GRAMBLING STATE BASKETBALL HISTORY
- Grambling State became the only SWAC school to advance in a postseason tournament as the GSU defeated Ole Miss, 78-75, in the first round of the WNIT last season.
- Grambling State reached the SWAC Championship game last season, but fell to Texas Southern, 70-66.
