SAN JUAN, Puerto | The Grambling State University women's basketball team will compete in the Puerto Rico Classic, held Dec. 19, 20, 21 at Mario Morales Coliseum in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The Lady Tigers officially arrived in Puerto Rico on Monday and each day during the team's journey, Grambling State Sports Information Director
Brian Howard will give the day's recap, including insight on upcoming events and games.
Day 1 Recap
> The Lady Tigers received a wake-up call at 7:30 a.m. and met in the lower level of the Intercontinental San Juan Hotel for breakfast
> The team departed at 8:15 a.m. for practice, the team's first since Friday (Dec. 14).
> Grambling State completed a two-hour practice, which included drills and scouting for Wednesday's game against South Dakota
> After the conclusion of practice, the team departed for Bayamón to participate in a community service project
> The first time in the
Freddie Murray era, the Lady Tigers did a hospital tour at Puerto Rico Children's Hospital

> After the hospital tour, the team split up and ate lunch at Pizza Hunt and Wendy's
> With about five hours until dinner, members of the team went swimming or took a tour of Old San Juan
> Dinner began at 7 p.m., followed by film and scouting of South Dakota
> The day ended with curfew and lights out at 10 p.m.
About the Game
> Tip-off against the Coyotes is set for 12:30 p.m. (central time)
> There is a two-hour difference between central time and atlantic standard time
> South Dakota is unranked in the polls, but is receiving votes and is ranked No. 2 in the Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major Top 25
