GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University men's basketball team will look to keep its 10-game winning streak alive in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play as Jackson State comes to town on Saturday. Tip-off for the Breast Cancer Awareness game at the Frederick C. Hobdy Athletic Center is set for 5:30 p.m.

Grambling State (14-12 overall, 10-3 SWAC) extended its win streak to 10 games after a 78-55 victory to Texas Southern on Feb. 12, which was the first time GSU has swept the season series over TSU since the 2005-06 season.

Jackson State (10-16, 7-6) will look to pick up its first conference win after losing to Southern, Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M in overtime.

* Jackson State is averaging 63.0 points per game, while its opponents are averaging 69.0 points.

* Sophomore guard
Ivy Smith, Jr. captured the SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the third time this season, the conference announced on Tuesday.
*Smith, who was also recognized as the SWAC College Basketball Madness Player of the Week on Monday, averaged 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a pair of road wins. He averaged 58.6 percent (18-of-37) from the field in the Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern wins.

* GSU was predicted to finish seventh in the preseason coaches' poll as voted on by conference head coaches and sports information directors. Grambling State did not have a player selected to the preseason All-SWAC first and second teams.

* Grambling State played just one game (Tougaloo) at home prior to opening conference play. GSU will play nine SWAC games at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Athletic Center.
