GRAMBLING, La. | The Grambling State University softball team opened a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) series with a 15-2 loss against Texas Southern on Friday afternoon at the GSU Softball Complex.
Texas Southern (13-6-1 Overall, 4-0 SWAC) struck first with two runs in the first inning, but Grambling State (8-17, 0-6) matched TSU with a pair of runs at the bottom of the frame after
Allye Hartley doubled to score
Tia Coleman and
Morgan Adams.
Texas Southern plated two in the fourth and one in the fifth to grab a 5-2 lead before exploding for 10 runs over the final two innings to pick up the 15-2 victory.
Inside The Numbers
* Grambling State finished with two runs on three hits and left four on base.

Morgan Adams went 2-for-3, with one run scored.

Allye Hartley finished with a double and added two RBIs.
* Caitlyn McDowell (6-6) took the loss as she gave up 15 runs (11 earned) on 19 hits, with two walks and one strikeout in seven innings.
* Jamin Fulmore (3-2) picked up the victory and surrendered two runs on three hits, with three walks and three strikeouts.
