PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State University softball team was swept by Prairie View A&M in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) doubleheader on Saturday at the PVAMU Softball Field.
Grambling State (10-24) fell 3-0 in the opener, and dropped the second game, 9-1, in five innings.
Game 1 (3-0 loss)
Prairie View A&M picked up one run in the second, one in the third and one in the fourth to blank the Lady Tigers.
GAME 2 (9-1 loss)
In the second game, The Lady Tigers picked up one run in the first inning as
Kenyshae Beasley reached on an infield hit and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by
Mercedes Williams. With two down,
Tia Coleman singled and
Allye Hartley reached on an error, which allowed Beasley to score to give Grambling State a 1-0 lead.
However, Prairie View A&M picked up three runs on three hits in the second to grab a 3-1 advantage. The Lady Panthers added on to the lead with three runs in the fourth and one run in the fifth to pick up the victory.

* Caitlyn McDowell took the loss as she gave up three runs on 14 hits and fanned one in six innings.

* Vannessa Castro picked up the victory while giving up one run on two hits and three strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
