PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State University baseball team jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon against Prairie View A&M, but that result didn't hold up as the Panthers scored 12 unanswered runs and took advantage of five errors en route to a 12-2 victory in eight innings in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game at Tankersly Field.
Grambling State (16-15 overall, 9-5 SWAC) picked up a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as
Ace Felder scored on a single by
Marshawn Taylor and the Tigers extended the advantage to 2-0 in the second when
Chris Campbell doubled to left and came in to score when Felder reached on an error.
Prairie View A&M (7-21, 4-10) used a four-run third and added two more in the fourth to take a 6-2 advantage. The Panthers weren't done as PVAMU plated five more in the sixth and one in the eighth for the victory.

* Grambling State registered two runs on five hits, committed five errors and stranded seven baserunners.

Garrett Smith went 2-for-4 to pace the Tigers offense.

Marshawn Taylor, Rafael Ramirez III and
Chris Campbell each finished with one hit.

Ryan Evans (2-2) took the loss as he surrendered six runs (three earned) on just one hit, with four walks and two strikeouts in three innings pitched.

Ryan Huntington and Kerry Boykins Jr. worked in relief.
* Prairie View A&M scored 12 runs on nine hits, committed four errors and left seven on base.
* Steven Williams and Tyler Gordon each had two hits.
* Tyler Laux (2-1) pitched a complete-game five-hitter to earn the win. He gave up two unearned runs, fanned three and walked one.
