Errors costly as Tigers fall to Panthers

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Grambling State University baseball team jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon against Prairie View A&M, but that result didn't hold up as the Panthers scored 12 unanswered runs and took advantage of five errors en route to a 12-2 victory in eight innings in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game at Tankersly Field.

Grambling State (16-15 overall, 9-5 SWAC) picked up a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Ace Felder scored on a single by Marshawn Taylor and the Tigers extended the advantage to 2-0 in the second when Chris Campbell doubled to left and came in to score when Felder reached on an error.

Prairie View A&M (7-21, 4-10) used a four-run third and added two more in the fourth to take a 6-2 advantage. The Panthers weren't done as PVAMU plated five more in the sixth and one in the eighth for the victory.
