GRAMBLING, La. | Kailey Pena scored off a deflection in the 41st minute as the Grambling State University women's soccer team ended a three-match losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 victory over LSU Shreveport at the GSU Soccer Complex.
Grambling State (2-4) controlled play in the opening 45 minutes, but Pena's goal gave the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the first half.
GSU dominated the action in the second half, out-shooting the Pilots, 13-1, but could not add the second goal in holding off LSU Shreveport to earn its second win of the young season.
